The Anahuac Independent School District provides special education services for students who reside within the district’s boundaries. Special Education is designed for students ages three through twenty-one with a disability and educational need for services. Students are served through a continuum of placement options from mainstreaming to self-contained classrooms based on the individual needs of the students as determined by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee. All campuses have a Content Mastery Center to provide reinforcement for instructions provided in the regular classroom. A Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) serving students ages three to five is also available.
If you are the parent of a preschool or school-aged child and concerned about a physical, speech, emotional, or academic problem that might interfere with your child’s educational success, you are encouraged to contact Sarah Fontenot or call 409-267-2017.
